How Ignoring the Market has Kept Me Invested

Well, it’s probably time I write a post about the market, investing and what’s happening to our economy. So far during this global pandemic, I’ve written about staying positive, cautious and invested as well as the importance of a healthy routine as a single during our social distancing.

My main concern during this time is everyone’s health and safety (that includes mental health!). The market will rebound and the economy will also rebound.

Secondly, my next concern is economy-related. We all know a lot of folks who are out on furlough right now and/or in danger of losing their business due to the massive shut down. Everyone is being affected by this pandemic.

This post is to answer some questions and clarify some buzz words surrounding the market and economy as well as share my secret sauce to investing.

This post is to all the single ladies (and men) who live alone and are practicing social distancing during this pandemic!

If you are in Ohio our governor has put out a stay at home order that goes into effect on 3/23/2020 at 11:59 pm. It’s no longer a choice to distant ourselves.

And we need to stay connected somehow during this time when we are apart more than ever.

Staying Positive, Cautious and Invested During a National Emergency look

March 16, 2020 By Deanna 2 Comments

Hello, my good people! We are currently in interesting times. In light of all that is going on throughout the world regarding the Coronavirus, I wanted to craft a post with my thoughts of how we can each stay:

  1. Positive
  2. Cautious
  3. Invested

There are real concerns about physical safety as we do our best to contain this virus, not catch it and not spread it.

Furthermore, the market has been going crazy. For anyone invested I want to speak on how we can remain invested and not give in to panic.

Lastly, whenever there is a crisis it’s easy to get caught up in fear, negativity and pessimism about the future. Mindset is a powerful thing that I’ve written about previously. Let’s do our best to be on the optimistic side of the future. I’ll share some tips on what I’m doing to keep positive.

Let’s dig in…

How I am Minimizing My Wardrobe

March 9, 2020 By Deanna 24 Comments

Recently I wrote a guest post on Joshua Becker’s site, Becoming Minimalist. In preparation for writing my guest post, I spent some time exploring Joshua’s information and his journey to becoming a minimalist. First, I spent many hours watching his YouTube channel.

Second, I spent time reading his blog and I found inspiration to minimize my wardrobe. These two articles started me off on contemplated just how I could do it:

  1. How Many Clothes Do I Need? A Practical Guide to Owning Fewer Clothes
  2. 8 Reasons Successful People Wear the Same Clothes Every Day

Then I was directed to this post by Denaye Barahona about how she embraced a minimalist wardrobe. It was really her post, which is full of pictures, that gave me the final motivation to take the plunge and get rid of a bunch of clothes in favor of more simplistic decisions in the mornings. Additionally, I timed this with my recent move which is a fine time to declutter.

About Me

My name is Deanna and I am happy to be on this redemptive path. I got sober from drug addiction/alcoholism in 2010 and returned to a faith in Christ. Additionally, I finished digging my way out of debt in 2017. Today, I’m learning to be a wise steward/investor of my resources while helping other women find their victories too. More about me.
